‘Intensive Design Days’ give your existing Squarespace website an entire day of my undivided attention. You won’t just get 8 hours of my time, you’ll be benefitting from my 18 years of experience, skills and knowledge too.
I created this service due to popular demand! After five years building solely for Squarespace, I have seen a lot of DIY websites. Squarespace is a brilliant platform because it allows users to build their own site at a fraction of the cost of a professional design – but that does come with some downsides. If you’d DIY-ed your site and know it isn’t quite where it could be – but you’re not sure how to get it there – this might be the right investment for you.
My client calendar has seen me booked up 3-4 months in advance for the last few years. This has been frustrating for potential clients who need help sooner than I can offer.
I’ve reshuffled my working schedule to be able to offer 2 or 3 design day slots each month, allowing us to work together when you need to, with a clear and concise project timeline.

What’s an Intensive Design Day?
Design Days allow you to book in with me for one 8 hour day of focused work on your website. This is the perfect opportunity to get professional help without the price tag or timeline of a custom built website.

A confirmed date in the diary and a project that you can be sure won’t drag on and on!
Resources to help you prepare any content needed for you specific project.
Access to me via email to ask questions before the big day.
A call the day before to go through everything and finalise my to-do list for the next day.
8 hours of my time, usually 9am-6pm in my timezone, focused solely on your website project (I’m going to need a break for lunch!).
A video sent within 24 hours, demonstrating anything you need to know about changes or additions made to your site.
2 hours worth of revisions within the next week, for any tweaks that are required.

An Example Re-Design Project
Mumming is an in-person and virtual co-working group for parents. Lauren, the group’s founder, asked me to overhaul a couple of the site’s pages, especially the homepage. She wanted the home page to be more engaging and to better communicate what Mumming is all about, while keeping true to the existing brand colours.

Timeline: One Day
To achieve this I used Squarespace, CSS and Adobe to:
Add additional font styles and an eye-catching underlined effect
Made more prominent and consistent use of the brand colours
Create waved dividers between sections on the home page
Add animation to the header image
Showcase photography more prominently
Incorporate the brand’s full colour palette across all elements

The Design Day Process
Consultation & Booking
Step one is to book a consultation call to discuss your project and what you hope to achieve from our day working together. This is your chance to find out if I’m the right designer for you and if a Design Day can help you reach your website goals.
If we are both happy to go ahead, we’ll find a suitable date in my diary and your fee for the day will be due to secure it.
Planning & Prep
I’ll send you a questionnaire along with a link to upload your content. As each project is unique, I’ll prepare a personalised list of exactly what you’ll need to send me in advance of the day along with any extra resources or guides I think might help you.
I’m available via email for any questions between your booking at the day itself.
The Big Day
The day before, we’ll have a Zoom chat to make sure we are on the same page about my to-do list for the day and that I have all the info and content I need to complete your project. Meeting the day before allows me to get started at 9am and work for 8 hours, no matter what timezone each of us is in.
I ask that you be available via email from 8am in your time zone in case I need to ask you any questions or send you anything to review.
Completion & Handover
At the end of the day, I’ll let you know how far I’ve gotten. 90% of the time, the project gets completed in one day but further days or half days can be booked if needed.
Within 24 hours, I’ll send you a training video demonstrating any new features I’ve added or anything you need to know to keep your new website or features running.
Pricing & Booking
YOUR INVESTMENT INCLUDES
A 1:1 planning meeting to draw up your website wishlist and my to-do list for the day.
A full 8 hours (4 hours for a half day) of my undivided attention on your website – I close down my emails, silence my phone and hire a puppy sitter.
Access to my expert Squarespace knowledge, coding skills and almost two decades of web design experience.
Detailed guidance via video to walk you through any new features added to your side. 2 hours of revisions and tweaks within the following week.
Full Day: £900
(~$1100USD)
Half Day: £500
(~$600USD)
NOTE: Please be aware, you are booking a set amount of time not a set finished result. Of course, I will endeavour to get through the whole project to-do list in the time allotted. I’ve been doing this a long time, so I’m pretty darn good at knowing how long something will take me and I can get a surprising amount done in a day, but I cannot make any guarantees. Extra days or half days can be added on to complete your project if required.

Do you work with guys too?
The vast majority of my clients are women and my marketing reflects this but I work with anyone who I feel would be a good fit, regardless of gender and have worked with plenty of male clients too. Do you accept payment in $USD?
All my payments are handled online and can be paid in your local currency based on the exchange rate set by your bank or finance provider. I work with clients all over the world, but as a UK registered business and taxpayer, my prices are quoted and charged in £GBP.
Are timezones an issue?
No, not at all. We will have a call the day before your Design Day to finalise the plan for the day itself and to make sure I have everything I need to get going at 9am the next morning. I ask that you book your Design Day for a date that you will be available and responsive via email from around 8am in your timezone, just incase I need to run anything by you. I am used to working with small business owners all over the world and I am flexible inn this regard.
Though I'm a native Brit, I attended college in the US and split my time between the two countries, so if you're US or Europe based there's a chance I'll be in your timezone anyway. I've worked with clients in Australia and NZ too... they tell me there's nothing like waking up to see I've completed your website while you were sleeping!

Is one day really enough?
The only way for me to truly answer this question is to get in touch or book a consultation call. I can achieve a lot in a day but there are limits.
What if my project takes more/less than an 8 hour day?
I offer half-day rates if, upon consultation, your project will take a little more or less than a day.
Do you offer payment plans?
Sadly not. As I am working on a website already owned and managed in your Squarespace account, the full fee must be paid upfront. On request, I may be able to take a 50% booking fee and hold the remaining 50% until just before the date of your Intensive Design Day. All of my invoicing and payment is managed online, so you have the option to pay using any major credit card which may also help you personally spread the payment.
Why should I hire you?
Well, that's a big question. I wouldn't want to work with anyone who doesn't think we are a good fit. There are lots of talented designers out there and I encourage you to check them out. I pride myself on coming at the site building process not just as a designer but as a developer. I've been building websites since the early 2000s and I have the experience and skills to ensure your website does a lot more than just look pretty.
Do you offer branding services?
I can create a mini-brand for your website, often in a half-day. This includes a text-based logo, alternative logo, submark (circular logo), colour palette, font selection, social media logos, browser icon and a selection of stock image examples. This can be combined with implementation to your existing website or creation of a simple 1-2 page website.
